Two weekends ago my mom and I took the boys to the cutest beach side town, Vero Beach.  It’s pretty much straight across the state from us, and took under 3 hours.  But felt a world away – in a fun way!  We had a blast, and enjoyed our family time so much at Costa d’Este.  It’s owned by Gloria and Emilio Estefan, and has a art deco, south beach, but modern vibe.  It was such a fun stay for all four of us (:

Location:

The hotel is situated in the perfect spot.  Walk out of the hotel, and there’s tons of adorable shops and restaurants.  You’re also right next to a cute park that’s right on the water.  They have a small airport, but it’s also only an hour and a half from Orlando.

Amenities:

Costa d’Este has bikes available for use, beach cabanas and chairs, poolside and beachside food and beverage service, kayaks, paddleboards, a ship wreck you can easily kayak to and snorkel, yoga on the beach every morning, a gym, a spa, a special turn down menu – for kids or adults based on your needs… I could go on and on!

The pool was one of our favorite spots!  It has a huge hot tub at the end, and it’s all just steps away from the beach.

Love the style of the hotel.  Felt like South Beach – but more low key.  Which is definitely my speed!

Accommodations:  We had an ocean side suite, which was perfect for the four of us.  And, the views!  oh my goodness!  My mom and I could not get over how gorgeous it looked just from our bed.  You even have a view from the great big bath tub!

This is the view during a storm from the room.  So beautiful!

And after the storm was on its way out!

The Beach:  We spent the majority of our time on the beach.  It was so nice having shade under the cabana, and also to be able to order lunch right from our seat.  The boys had a ball, and never wanted to go in!

Paul, who directs the water sport rentals and beach chairs, was super kind and caught a fish for the boys.  We also found shark teeth, sand fleas, and a million shells.  The boys built forts for hours.

First time on a paddleboard.  I was afraid I’d flip it over if I stood.  But probably should have tried it!   Nina had a blast in the water!

The food:

The food:

The food was amazing!  The hotel is owned by Gloria and Emilio Estefan, and it even had some of their old family recipes in The Wave Bar & Kitchen.  Every bite we had was delicious.  My mom and I ordered the avocado salad (kicking myself I didn’t get a pic of this) every day we were there.  And I had this breakfast sandwich “the vero beach club” all three days.  It was incredible!  They were wonderful in regards to allergies as well.  Plenty of vegan and gluten free options throughout their menus.  One night we had an in room dining party in our Pajamas.  They made it so cute and special – cornmeal was the sand for the beach on the plate.  Boys were so excited!

Just outside of the hotel is Countryside Citrus, and so many of y’all had recommended it to us.  The boys loved their orange slushie with ice cream on top!

Spa:

Both my mom and I took a trip to the spa, and switched off watching the kids.  Love that they have a full service spa!
