my typical travel outfit

travel outfit

{very happy, at the end of a long international flight!}

I got a few, you wear black?!  questions when I posted about my travel outfit to Spain.  I do, I do!  I think it’s the most forgiving shade, especially when you are traveling!  This isn’t just my travel outfit, but honestly my every day drop off kids outfit during the school year.  Of course I do get “dressed up” during the week at some point but most of the time, this is my uniform.   I find that if I’m ready to work out with tennis shoes and leggings, I’m a lot more likely to actually work out before pick up time.

The leggings I’m wearing here are lululemon align pants.  and while I love the way they feel, they have pilled quite a bit.  The koala knock off ones that every blogger seems to have, haven’t pilled at all.  But while they are comfortable, they aren’t quite as comfortable as lululemon though.  Still at a fraction of the cost, worth a buy if this is your uniform like me.  The top is usually a zara basic top.  This particular one isn’t online, but when I find a few that work I’ll buy more than one.  They’re usually under$10, rarely pill, and haven’t faded for me yet.

And by now you’ve heard me rave about my latest fanny pack.  JB keeps saying things like “I never thought I’d see the day” … and hey, I didn’t see it coming either.  But fanny packs are cute now.  Or I think so anyway.  This one from target is super functional.  It holds my wallet, hand sanitizer, phone, and passport.  Sold! Also, I’m wearing it even not on travel days now, so you may see me roll up to the first day of school with one.  I’m forgetful, and have been known to just toss credit cards into an abyss of a bag, so this is helping me be a more responsible human!

a big cozy sweater is a must.  This one I just picked up from Target before I left.  Layers are perfect when you never know what temp you’ll be in the air!

shoes!  these new balances are from nordstrom rack – these are the closest to the ones I have.  they aren’t great for serious workouts but for walking they’re wonderful.

then I love my veronica deore chain, so I always know where my sunnies are.  and they aren’t falling off my head when I bend over. You can get 20% off with code STucker20

+ sunnies!  I found these at anthro but they are direct from the supplier on amazon.  and $16!  Maybe it’s because I’m from Florida but I find I always have to have sunglasses.  I notice it even here in Spain, that even on the cloudy days I need them!  When it seems no one else does.

For a good travel bag/purse I love my Uashmama Boston Backpack.  It can hold allll the important things – like snacks, book, more hand sanitizer, sanitizer wipes (do you see I’m a bit of a crazy over this?!), cover up, and whatever else of the boys I’m carrying with me!

And so there you have it, my travel outfit!  I’ve been more adventurous (i.e. dressed cuter) when I’m not flying with kids.  But with kids, black is extremely forgiving.
