why we love the Windsor Court in New Orleans

I grew up going to the New Orleans area every summer visiting family, and in college I lived down in the warehouse district on South St Peters street working at my uncles law firm for two summers.  I always loved visiting but living there gave me a whole new appreciation.  I love the feeling I get there.  It’s beautiful like no where else I’ve visited in the states- from the architecture to the foliage.  The food is the most delicious!  There’s live music seemingly around every corner.  It’s one of those places that makes you feel so alive.  When we decided to evacuate due to Irma we thought about a lot of options but decided on Louisiana, so we could see family.  For the first few days we figured we would stay in New Orleans, to give the kids  a taste of the city.  And also because we had no idea how long we’d be staying with relatives and didn’t want to wear out our welcome.  Something else I love about New Orleans in general is that their hospitality is the best –and the best is just what we experienced at the Windsor Court!  We had stayed there a few years ago when my cousin had her debut, and when I was growing up its where we always had high tea when in the city.  We booked a suite, which is perfect for a family since it has a sitting area that is closed off from the bedroom.  You can put the kids to bed, and enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony.  Or in our case, you could put some cartoons on in one room so we could watch a few minutes of the news about Irma in the other one.  we spent the previous night in Tallahassee, and the ride with two kids into New Orleans was no joke.  So we loved being welcomed with some treats.  Wesley helped himself (:
Roscoe!  Dogs were welcomed with their own bowls, and plush beds.

    The view!

I love these curtains in the room!

    blowing kisses!!

the boys loved taking afternoon dips in the pool.  you can also have food/drinks served right to your pool chair which always works well with our kids.

The best way to describe The Windsor Court  is comfortable luxury.  Which is such a nice treat, especially with children.  The staff is never stuffy, and so attentive and kind.  We loved our shelter from the storm.

Will share what we did with our kids in New Orleans tomorrow- there is surprisingly so much for them.  We can’t wait to go back!
