Who remembers when Tuck wouldn’t take his police costume off?  Which was fine in the winter, but in the florida summer?  It’s way too hot for long sleeve polyester!   I tried getting special shirts with a police hat on them … but he still always tried to reach for his official jacket.  When people would say – oh look there’s a police officer!  he would whisper and say “now you know I’m not realllly a police officer”.  He’s always been into costumes, and the days at school when he gets to dress up are his favorite.  On a random Saturday at home, the boys frequently have been five different occupations before noon.  Imaginative play is the best – and my most favorite to watch.

Our costume box though was overflowing, it was packed in there, and that was even after I “tidied up”.  So I asked my friend Nikita if they could make the boys one of their gold racks but a little more their size.  My friend Katie had them make one, a little different, and it turned out so good!   JB and Anthony (Nikita’s husband who makes them) went to grade school together, and JB cannnnot stop talking about how well this rack is made.  It’s so solid, it can definitely hold up to my boys – which is saying something.  My guys were SO excited, and even more so when I put all of their dress up clothes on it.

We seem to pick up costumes everywhere – from the dollar store, thrift store, and online.  Melissa and doug and h&m, have some of the best ones around!  Hooray for imaginative role play!
