Four Seasons Orlando for the Holidays

  {I was provided with a discounted rate at The Four Seasons Orlando but all opinions are my own}

What a birthday weekend!  I am so grateful to be another year older.  I think after hitting 30 four years ago, time has only seemed to speed up.  These are theeee days!  How sweet and precious and crazy the last four years have been.  But I wouldn’t change it for an instant, or all the wrinkles I’ve gotten since then (;

I polled instagram because I was pretty torn on if we would take the boys on our getaway.  About 86% of you said “leave them with nina”.  I understood both sides so well.  On one side it would have been amazing to take them, but when your own mother is like “please have a night away”, you just pack a bag and enjoy.  Plus the boys think of their grandparents house as pretty much disney world anyway, so?!  It really was so special just JB and I.  But of course there’s something about being in Orlando, and missing your kids.  So next time we go to the Four Seasons Orlando we will definitely be taking the kids like last time!

We checked in on the app, and upon arrival someone took our bags and gave us our keys on the spot.   So easy!  We walked into a sweet surprise waiting for us in the room.  Their rooms are gorgeous, and this one had a corner view.  So from one window there was epcot, and the other balcony had a view of the magic kingdom.

Then we headed down to the adults only pool.  It was so quiet and relaxing.

I had a skinny dip (didn’t go actually skinny dipping!!  but had their “skinny dip” – a gin elderflower cocktail that was soooo good) and ordered the loaded waffle fries.  Definitely living up that birthday.  Those fries were ammmmmazing.  As was the service.  I am always so impressed by the Four Seasons and how every member of their staff is so helpful and delightful.

We hung out here until around dusk and then needed to get ready for dinner at Capa.

JB brought a special bottle of wine to uncork.  It was from schramsberg out in Napa Valley, which generally does sparklings, but we love their red label “J. Davies”.  We ordered a bunch of small plates, and every one of them was delicious.  My favorites were the bacon wrapped dates and the flash fried cauliflower that you break an egg over.  There were kids up there too, and a DJ, so while it’s not as kid friendly as the FSOrlando Ravello, kids were welcomed and of course, treated right.

The next morning JB and my brother went golfing, and my sister in law and I went to the spa for massages.  Before that though I had breakfast in bed, which is one of my favorite things about hotels in general.  But their breakfasts in bed even take that up a notch.

I didn’t know before, but as guests you can use the spa facilities even if you don’t book treatments.  The spa is so beautiful and peaceful.  I went live on instagram, showing it around since I got there before anyone was in the spa that morning.

They have this experience shower which has a touch screen and you can make it tropical rains, mists, etc.  It was so fun, and perfect for after the steam room.

The Four Seasons Orlando hosted me for a honey massage treatment (c/0).  They use local honey as the main medium for the massage, which is exfoliating and healing.  My skin still feels incredible from it.  Next time I go, I want to do it again!

The weather was beautiful while we were there.  Especially for December!  We were able to enjoy the lazy river, which is kept at 84 degrees, and then we hopped into the hot tub. We needed to get back that night for a party, so we left around 2:30.  But not after some coffee and gelato from Lickety Split.  So so good!

I loved seeing how dressed up the Four Seasons Orlando was for the Holidays.  It was the perfect night away to relax, recharge, and get ready for more holiday and birthday fun.  They made my birthday beyond special at every turn.  Thank you FSOrlando!!
