I got this fun idea from Julia who posted on IG about her sons “camp tagg”.  My wheels instantly started turning for a little Camp Tuck.  His birthday is in early January, but we had just traveled and hosted heathers baby shower… so we wanted to wait a bit.  Plus, who doesn’t need a little pick me up at the end of January?  The weather was perfect.  Which was surprising because the whole week had been cold and rainy.  Guests arrived at 5:30, the kids all ran around playing with toys or jumping on the trampoline for about an hour, and we had dinner.  It was just pulled pork and chicken sandwiches, baked beans and cole slaw.   Then we started the movie around 7.  We played “Little Rascals“.  Tuck had never seen it before, but he loved it (and the other kiddos too!).  For dessert we had S’mores – what is better than a s’more around a camp fire on a chilly night?!  We hosted about 40 people, kids included. And I was sort of amazed that I wasn’t in my usual one hour before party freak out mode.  But I kept reminding myself that it’s just friends coming, who cares if my house isn’t tidy?  A full house is my happy place, even when that house is a mess.  Tuck woke up the next day and said “Oh NO!  where the party go?!”.  He had the best time and I loved watching that and being able to celebrate him.
