Beautycounter giveaway

First of all, this might be my favorite giveaway ever.
I first heard about the beautycounter last week from Anna and it’s been love at first look.  The more I learned about the company, the more I fell harder.  The products are gorgeous – make me feel like i just stepped up to the beauty counter in paris circa 1920.  BUT more importantly they are safe for me and my bubs; free of toxins, carcinogens, and all the scary stuff found in too many things.  Usually when you get something that works well, and in great packaging you are generally asking for it.  toxins galore.  just take a look at the back of your bottle for ingredients and try to pronounce them.  good luck.    and if you find something free of toxins and safe for you; you are usually giving up any and all style.  Not at the beautycounter.  Safe, pretty, and even educational and empowering.  At the Truth Serum you can learn how to make your home, life, world – safer.  Reliable information on health?  I’m all about it.   Because making my home safe in every way for my son, my husband and myself is so close to my heart.

The founder of the beauty counter, Gregg, started the company because:

“Like many of you, I’m a wife and mom- and like many of you, I didn’t know what I didn’t know.  As I applied sunscreen, lotion, and any number of beauty products on myself and my kids, I never thought for a second they might not be safe: After all, I thought, we live in a country that regulates everything.  So imagine my surprise when I learned that when it comes to the personal care industry, that’s simply not the case.  Companies are allowed to use known toxins – ingredients that have been linked to cancer, reproductive issues, hormone disruption – without telling us.  As I learned more – 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women in the US will be diagnosed with cancer; that our children’s generation is the first that is sicker and may die younger than their parents’ – I had to do something.  So I started Beautycounter, a company devoted to progress.  You’ll find a wealth of empowering information about ways we can all make the world healthier, along with products you can trust that are safe.  Because we all deserve better.  Our vision is bold – real answers are never timid.  Help us put the truth back in beauty”

Also – this is apparently the smallest world ever. I just realized that Anna is married to my old landlord/the older brother and cousin of some of my sorority sisters!

I always forget:) We miss our first home there in Raleigh but it is nice being near our moms here in Pinehurst! Hope you are doing well! xoxo, Anna

Love finding out about new natural products. Since I got a baby in the belly now, I'm now so much more aware of trying to stay natural and organic. Crazy what babes will do to ya!

Jessica – Congrats on the baby! I have a 3 year old boy and I sure wish I'd been more up on everything when I was pregnant – such a crucial time to cut the toxins!!! Let me know if you need any info or would like to try anything! Cheers, Anna
