this was my fave day in sicily.  can you see why?

we went up to mt.etna, an hour up the volcano, where it was freeeezing.

that terrain was something else!  I never even got a great photo.  but it sure was fun having a private tour with my in-law’s.  later in the day we went down the mountain a bit to the Murgo Winery, where the baron himself gave us a grand tour.  Our guide told us we were going to stop for a “light lunch” … which turned into 8!  eight!  courses.  and wine pairings with each.

italians know how to eat.  i love you, italy. italian food. siestas.  you do life well.

we headed home, did a siesta of our own.

then headed out to Casa Grugno in Taormina for another delicious meal.
