Begin Now

{via}

i made a list soon after my surgery of all the things I wanted to do.
I read a quote inside a jamba juice {ha!} that said
"Begin doing what you want to do now.
We are not living in eternity. We have only this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand-and melting like a snowflake"

i can't believe how many i've crossed off of that list.
sometimes it takes something big happening to put your life into perspective.
but don't wait for something big
to realize how short life is.
how we should go after our dreams ...
it costs far too much to not.

  4. Love love love this. Can I use that quote on my blog? I'll give you credit. Funny enough contemplating a big career move and think there was a reason I saw this today.

  9. The timing of your post today could not be better. I have been struggling over the past couple of weeks with the feeling that the things that "I have to do" always seem to get in the way of the things that "I want to do". I need to get better at making sure that I make room for both, specially the things I want to do. Life is too short to waste it!

  10. during a reorganizing, de-cluttering fit last night i found my high school journal and inside was a list of things I wanted to do in my life. without even realizing it I had done so many things on that list.. 16yr old me would be so proud. i'm looking forward to finishing the list :)

  11. I love this Sarah --- I've been trying to push myself to follow those dreams lately. Perhaps because 30 is nearing and it seems time has just flown by! Either way, great to live in the now!

  12. This is very true! I tend to be practical: invest in the future, work really hard now so that later is easier, etc.
I've been wanting to move to DC, but have had trouble finding a job there while living in Washington state. My current job recently has had some changes.. that have pushed more more towards being less concerned about having employment lined up! I'm 95% decided that this summer I'm moving to DC, job or no job!!! I'll figure it out once I get there!

  18. Agreed!!

Well, something did happen to me recently that made me realize this...but I think I will make a list as well and cross things off as I accomplish them.

  19. Perfectly put Sarah! I wrote a similar theme today..about trying things you thought you may have disliked...branching out and experiencing life.

  20. I love this, Sarah! Perfect! It's easy to get caught up in "life" and forget that it's about LIVING! Thanks for the reminder.

  24. That is so true! I think we all take time for granted sometimes. My motto is: never postpone for tomorrow the things you can do today :)
