1000 gifts

Just a little sneak at my Saturday night.
My father in law had tickets to go to the masters {!!!}, so we were happy to have my mother in law over for dinner.
JB pan fried and smoked mullet he caught off the dock the night before.
It was such a beautiful night, a little windy, not too hot or cold.
Can all meals be dined al fresco?  please.
trying to savor these breezy nights.

it is nights like those that make me so thankful.  for everything i have.
i look around and think - how can i ever complain?  about anything. ever.
so sparked my 1000 gift post.  of course inspired by Ann Voskamp's book.
It has had a profound effect on me.  And I'd like to have a list of 1000 gifts by the end of the year.
i firmly believe gratitude is the key.  happy people are grateful.  grateful people are happy.
so this post is going to grow.
to have photos, words... i just want to get it all down.  to savor life.
it's going to be the longest post ever.
i hope to make it to 1000 by New Years (:
And so i'd love to challenge you too, to make your list.

  17. This probably my favorite book at the moment (reading it a second time now!). I started a 1000 gifts list last year and I'm around 400 now! So I'm definitely taking the challenge :) It's such a great way to focus on the blessings the Lord has given us, and focus less on the suffering or hardships in our lives. Beautiful pictures! I can't wait to read more of your list! xo

  28. I love that book, and it has had such an impact on my life. It is the compilation of those 'little things' and being thankful for those that instill a heart of gratitude -- something I am still working at. I love this idea. It will hold me accountable to tracking that which makes me grateful instead of dismissing it.

  33. I loved reading this! That's it, I'm a reader now. Bah, your Boston Terrier looks so similar to ours--really petite with the almost-always-upright-ears...except when she does something she wasn't supposed to, when her ears end up flat against her little head.

  34. I love this! It's such a great idea, and there really is so much in life that we should be grateful for. There are so many little things that are overlooked every day. I will definitely be starting this!
