Holiday Shopping Guy-de || JB Edition

i've mentioned on twitter once or ten times that i taught jb how to pin.
it's one of my greater achievements in life.
he has a single board entitled "christmas presents (hint, hint)"
It's making my Christmas shopping for the ole huz easy peasey.
Not that he has ever been hard to shop for.  Sometimes I'll give him a shirt I picked up at Marshalls and he looks at me like it was the first shirt he has ever been given.  If I'm stumped I know I can always get him anything  with Tampa Bay Rays or Wake Forest on it  and i can sleep soundly knowing he is one happy camper.
JB is not hard to shop for.  I just know that bow ties and cardigan sweaters are not on his list, ever.  whatever JB.
Regardless I try to be as thoughtful as possible.
Because giving the perfect gift makes everyone so pleased.
All on JB's Pinterest board!
first row: rendezvous bbq sauce , a charcoal starter, a purple bomber , wake forest slippers.
second row: "this is brutus", smoker, a vintage bike.
...
People have asked on my formspring what I've given him in the past.
-A Weber Grill: best $90 of my life.  give a man a grill and you will never have to cook when you don't want to.  the above smoker is looking more and more likely.
-an engraved Bible
- almost every year i give him a little scrap book of us from that year
- bose ear phones
-knives... the man loves him some knives
(the cooking kind, although I'm pretty sure he'd think any kind were cool)
...
What are you giving the guy(s) in your life this year?

  1. the charcoal starter is a win win. any guy i know loves it.

it'd be a good investment. not only would you not have to cook when you don't want too...but it won't take so long!

  2. Oh girl, the smoker is a must. My boy was never so excited as when we went shopping for that. Beware: he will attempt to smoke everything at first, right down to your shoes!

  3. I am in AWE that you got JB to pin! Amazing!

Well, since there is no one special in my life right now, I find merit in creating pretty great care packages for my little brother in Afghanistan right now! I just sent him one yesterday so that it would arrive in time for Christmas. It's a little tricky trying to balance what he needs vs what would be fun to send vs what could potentially burst or break in transit. He loves protein packed food, and anything WARM! Plus, a little candy and something fun to read never hurt :) I WISH I could send him that puppy!

  6. this is too cute- I need to get Justin pinning! haha My hubby is the same way- he's super easy to shop for. And seriously, a shirt from TJMaxx or Marshalls is usually his favorite thing, too! These boys... I think his favorite gift was last year- I purchased a Bears football jersey (his favorite team) and it was his first ever jersey. He cried. So I knew I did well (:

  11. can I second JB's request for brutus! y'all should get a pups haha! i'm so excited for Christmas this year, I think I am going a little overboard with getting gifts for Matt this year but I can't help it. Last year I couldn't really get him anything because he was leaving. This year, I actually had a painting done for him and I got him a pair of ugg slippers (the man LOVES his slippers.) honestly, if I spent all Christmas watching him open presents I would be so happy... he is so cute when he gets excited.

  12. My husband got a smoker last year, which he loves, but is hard for us to use where we live (might as well be a retirement community!) We had to use it on our porch and our house smelled like smoked brisket for weeks! He wasn't complaining though lol.

I don't really know what I am going to get my husband this year though...he ALWAYS says he doesn't want anything, it's not a big deal, blah blah blah. So difficult! Lol

  15. My husband always ask for me to find a creative way to spend more time together. The first year we were married I booked a hotel room a couple of hours away to just get away for a while. He loved it! I have a few ideas this year, but I'm not sure which one I will go with. :)

  16. i'm totally stumped on what to get the boy. like JB, he'd be absolutely content with a sports tee, or something from nike. but it can't be too big because i have to ship it to him in germany :[ so difficult.

  25. My husband is NOT easy to shop for. I cannot buy him clothes. He NEVER likes what I pick out, even if I think it's totally his style.

Anyway, I'm giving him a Mondaine desk clock, you know the official Swiss railway clock? He eyed them in the shops when we lived in CH, so now he gets one! Also, a Lemon Ball handmade baseball (made in USA!), and finally, I actually want to get him a bow tie! 2 down one to go... :)

  26. My guy is pretty easy to shop for too. A lot of times he thinks he wants something because he feels like he should want to wear it (ex. manigan aka cardigan) but he won't ever wear it. So I've learned to stick with solid colors in shades of black, white, grey, and blue and Star Wars stuff always wins. I can always find something new in Star Wars, but since we're both approaching 30 it might be time to move away from that. haha

I vote for Brutus! I want one. Knives are always good!!
