Life

I'm headed back to the good ole U S A later this month.
JB will be headed back after his season, which will probably be late October.
Honestly, I was sad to see September come mainly because I knew decisions needed to be made...
and change was upon us.
I'm getting used to the fact that we're headed home.
That life is going to change in a big way for us.
For one, my stint as a stay at home wife is coming to an end.
i've enjoyed my run of drinking copious amounts of tea, reading blogs and fixing fancy dinners.
{though maybe the job search will take a while ... }

I'll soon be kissing JB goodbye in suits and ties instead of a baseball uniform.
But ... we can't be nomads forever.   That was not the plan.
His new job will have lots of travel perks, we'll get to make a real home, and hopefully become parents to a cute french bulldog...
{hint, hint, JB...   !}

eventually and Lord willing... a baby! ... one day.

I am scared but excited when I think of all the possibilities.
I also know that is how most good chapters in life begin.
heck, i was so scared to come over here at first!

I look back at how God has taken care of us and I am overcome by peace for our future.

Also, i've got three weeks left here.  I am choosing to enjoy every second.

  1. LOVED this post Sarah. I agree, God is GOOD and everything happens for a reason, HIS reason.

I thoroughly enjoyed living vicariously through you as you traveled all over and will continue to do so when you are back in balmy Florida. Is that where you will be?

and oh my, I can't WAIT to one day see a picture of that baby. I am already blinded by the gorgeousness he/she will possess :)

the most comforting thing in change, is that you have JB, the person you love, right there, by your side, going through it with you, every step of the way.

God is good, and He always has an incredible plan - one that we couldn't have designed for ourselves. Trust is so hard, but I'm learning. And I'm truly inspired by how you exude faith through your blog. :)

  28. First of all - Proverbs 3:5,6 is one of my favorite scriptures too!

Secondly - Please don't stop blogging after you move. I will miss you.

and Finally - The best is yet to come! Just wait. You are going to love being a parent when you decide the time is right!

  29. So excited for you two! I just love reading about your lives and even moreso about your excitement in knowing that God is taking care of you and filling your life with peace. Every picture of the two of you is evidence to it. HUsband and I are five months along with a wee one and it is a beautiful thing-let me know when you want me to start praying for that :)

  39. aww, back to the US!! Very cool, I'm sure that was a tough decision!
p.s. have you checked your email lately? we're emailing about today :)

  40. Yay for AMERICA!!! And I get what you mean at the end. Sometimes when God is calling us to do big things or take "risks" if we forget to look back on everything He has provided for and done so far we can just get caught up. Beautiful girl.

    Enjoy those 3 weeks.
And, of course, post if you want...

    No pressure or anything.

  45. I just recently stumbled across your blog, but I just wanted to say that I think you and JB are adorable. You guys will continue your fairy tale story just in another city. And as Dave says...."Turns out not where but who you're with that really matters." :-)

  46. On one hand, I'm super sad that I won't be constantly jealous of your quick trips to far and nearby wonders. I mean, who needs the travel channel when you have this?

But on the other hand, Florida is a bit closer to LA than all of your other residences from the past year or so. And with that I smile.

I think you and JB need to take a vaca to LA. We can take a safari to see the natural wildlife. But be careful, they bite.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Aw, how exciting and sad all at the same time. Sad you have to say good bye to JB but exciting that you get to start a new adventure back here in the US :)
Hope you have safe travels and a wonderful rest of your time in Switzerland. :)

  48. Enjoy the rest of your time over there! Change can be scary, but I am always amazed at how God takes care of us. Living and traveling in Europe seems like an awesome opportunity, but making a home can be a totally different and exciting experience as well!

  49. I'm sure it was a very hard decisions, but I wish you the absolute best in your next journey! you have such a passion for life, that you can make any place a beautiful home. & if you move back to florida, we can have a blate :)

  50. It's so exciting when you see God's hand in all that has happened in your life (and it's happening at the moment)... Psalm 37:5 always makes me so happy and at peace with the future, I'm sure you will too Sarah darling.

    Kisses!

  51. i feel you... but the good news is god does have great things. and a girl like you will find the best things in any situation... though it is heartbreaking to leave such a special time of your life. one that was just perfect.

whenever i get sad about phases ending, tyler always tell me: it'll be different, but it'll still be good.

i love that! can't wait to see where you go, and how you find happiness there. :) we'll miss you on this side of the pond!

  56. Sarah what a beautiful quote. It couldn't be more true....sometimes he asks us to take these big acts of faith so that he can show us just how much he is listening, and how personal his love for each of us is.

I am so excited for you, because you have a whole lot of world coming up ahead of you! I know it must be bittersweet though to end your travels. Looking forward to following your adventures!

  62. I can't wait to talk more about this this weekend - in person! this is just a new adventure in your life, it will be just as amazing as traveling around europe. I'm sure it's bittersweet. on the one hand, there's no place like home, on the other, living in europe has been the opportunity of a lifetime. but you have so many things to look forward to - especially if it involves a frenchie :) my advice - get one while you're not working, because taking care of a puppy is a full time job!!! they are amazing, but quite the handful! all totally worth it, though!!! see you in a couple day!!! eeeee!!!
