warning: don't read on an empty stomach

eat. sightsee. relax. repeat.
this is our rough draft for all holidays and of course, italy is no exception.
real authentic Italian food.
few things in this life are better.
i love the juicy tomatoes, homemade pasta, salami, yummy cheeses... they just do it right.
In Greve we ate at Gallo Nerro, and Osteria Di Passignana
in Parma we ate at Trattoria del Tribunale
and in Firenze, and San Gimignano ... it was so good, but both names escape me.
anyway, all have my endorsement as everything was divina.
...

First ...
Meat and Cheese plates!
real parma cheese
eggplant parm lasagna
pumpkin ravioli
tuscan bread soup, fried pasta, and raspberry sour creme
zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta
scorpion fish soup with pesto ravioli
duck with cherries
real minestrone
truffles!
a tuscan specialty.  bready soup.  so good.

tiramisu
grandmother's cake ... made by real granny (:
wine tasting with "the four best friends that anybody can have" ... sang to Allen's song from hangover (:
thank God our friends love food just as much as we do.

Sorry if i made your stomach growlllll this wednesday morning.
tomorrow ... Firenze! xo

PS:
I'm on Michaela Noelle's amazing design Blog ...

  1. Ok, so I didn't head your warning... and it's midnight over in my neck of the woods, and I'm starving now! All this looks amazing. I miss Italy. I never had a bad meal there and I miss my 4 times a day gelato. Hope you are having just the best time ever!

  3. OH. My. goodness. I can't wait until I have enough money to go to italy and eat like that. ?? THat might seem like a weird thing to say, but I might just have to buy a piggy bank and label it "italy eats". the eggplant parm looks amazing! and tiramisu. Italians know how to do it right.

  4. OMgah - I DIE! The Salumi platter, that lasagna, truffles, and pasta! it's gastro heaven! I think I'd need to lose 30 lbs before I'd ever get to Italy just to prep myself for all the food I'd inhale! Thanks for sharing these delectable pics!

  8. I didn't heed your warning - mistake.

And I have a confession... you noticed that I was wearing the same wedding dress. That's because, like many engaged women, I followed Style Me Pretty religiously. I saw the dress on YOU and said, "that is exactly what I want to wear". So I hunted it down. Called everywhere in the greater NY area and finally found it at a little shop in Brooklyn.

And when I stumbled upon your blog while blog hopping one day, I was like, "THE GIRL WITH THE DRESS! AND SHE LIVES IN EUROPE! FOLLOW."

So that is my story. And I hope it doesn't sound as creepy to you as it just did to me when I read it over. In any case, thank you for submitting your wedding to Style Me Pretty - it was lovely, and without it I may never have found my dream dress :)

You definitely made my tummy rumble, and I promise it wasn't empty when reading this post. It enjoyed dry cereal with dried fruit this morning, then half an hour later, a whole peach. It shouldn't be talking to me...
