Guest Post: Kristina of The fabuleux destin de…

I'm off taking my comps in little Oxford, MS.
The really BIG test that will determine whether I graduate from my masters program.
nbd. oh suuuure.

While I'm away testing and hanging with my sister - you guys get a break from the
 poor-pitiful-me-i'm-lost-without-jb-posts.

Today we have  Kristina from The fabuleux destin de…
Kristina is the sweetest.  and an incredible photographer.  and she travels the WORLD.
Oh, and she lives  a short 45 minute train ride away from me (when I live in Suisse) ...
so the #blate will be happening shortly after my arrival (:
anticipation overload.

...................

Hi everybody, so nice to finally meet you all. I am Kristina from The fabuleux destin de… and I am super excited to be here today. Thanks Sarah for letting me do this! :)

As we all know, Sarah loves to travel and while she does, she takes beautiful photographs. We both share the same passion – travelling and using photography to capture the beauty of places and people is what I enjoy doing most!

Every place has its own magic, but some places just have the special “little something”, which makes them more photogenic then others.

Today I would love to share with you some of the most photogenic places I have visited and give you some tips and guidance on what to photograph while being there! Hope you enjoy!

Venice, Italy
Everybody knows that Venice is one of the most beautiful and romantic cities out there.
Wandering through the small alleys, over tiny bridges and seeing all this great architecture is a dream.

I could wander for days and never get bored of it. I love to take pictures of the waterways and especially the famous gondolas.  Play with the shutter speed on your camera and you will get great results of slowly moving gondolas.

Also pay attention to the details such as pretty windows and doors!
Marrakech, Morocco
Stepping out of the taxi after arriving in the Medina (old town) is like stepping into the tales of 1001 nights.  The sound, smell, and the thousands of winding streets of the Souks will make you dizzy.
Wherever you look you see something worth taking a picture of.  But be careful, Moroccan people are very sensitive about being photographed and might react harshly.  Respect their religious motives and move on to photograph the stunning architecture, details of mosaics and the many products offered in the souks.

The old wooden doors and the colourful carpets are also great to photograph!

Hoi An, Vietnam
After traveling along the Vietnamese coast, we finally arrived in the small town of Hoi An. It has been spared for the destruction of the war and conserves its old and ancient charm.  You'll find wonderful restaurants and cafes all around town; tiny galleries and beautiful architecture.

Take a tripod and also shoot pictures at night when the buildings are illuminated magically, the laterns glow in all the colors of the rainbow and the street kitchens are in full action.

What are your favorite photogenic cities / places?

Thanks Sarah for having me here today, you know how much I love your blog and I am so looking forward to meeting you offline in Switzerland once you are back!!

Lovely Day,
Kristina
