congrats don draper

confession: i'm obsessed with mad men.  I was smiling from ear to ear yesterday when I caught up to the season finale.  Even though Don is disturbing on every. single, episode to some degree, I still feel sorry for him and ache for his happiness.  I feel hopeful for him and Megans engagement.  Even though in the back of my mind, I bet he will just let me and megan down.  I've always liked Megan - she's sincere, kind and beautiful.  What do y'all think?  thoughts?
congrats Don!  best wishes Megan!
I think there's one thing we can all agree upon - Jessica Pare is stunning.

  1. oh my gosh - while i loved don's giddy smile when he told the partners, it was a little overshadowed by poor faye!! agh, i just felt SO bad for her. i hope him and megan work, for everyone's sake!!

so glad someone else is as addicted as i am - i don't want to wait for another season!!!

  2. While I am so happy for them both and pray that it works out, I don't really have much faith that it will. I actually kept thinking that at any moment Don was going to wake up and the entire proposal had been a dream....

Now the tortuous wait begins for the next season!

  3. Yes, absolutely stunning. I actually kept hoping it was a dream, because it's just wrong in so many ways. Megan does seem sweet and sincere, but she's so naive and has no idea what she's getting into. I loved the scene at the diner, because I think that's what sealed it for Don. Her reaction to the spilled milkshake was completely opposite to what Betty's would have been, and it must have felt so refreshing to Don. The women on the show are so incredibly fascinating and all so different too.

Clearly I'm obsessed too - one of the best shows ever!

  5. Loving that you love "Mad Men!" I was lucky enough to book a to co-starring on the show this year in a scene with Mr. Don Draper, and he is lovely in person...glad you love it, and I enjoyed reading everyone's thoughts!

  6. I love Megan, but I do feel bad for her. I think Don just forced himself to believe he was in love with her because he wanted to run away from the reality back in New York. He just can't seem to deal with the fact that Faye knows about his past, so he's running away from it. I felt like we watched him "grow up" in some ways over the seasons, and in the finale he just reverted back to the way he was in the beginning. I feel like Better was the same way, too. She was so immature, and poor Carla! Argh. I wonder if that was the writers' way of somehow telling us that Betty and Don are in some way still synced. Who knows! This season was my favorite, though. I don't know what I'll do on Sunday nights without it!

that's ok, i accidentally read an interview w/ jessica pare & the first question was about the engagement - crap! i didn't want to know that!
P wants to get into the show (thank god) so we have season 1 coming today on Netflix. But he won't watch the finale yet (I've watched the past 5 eps on OnDemand and I've been hooked!) so we're waiting. I'm dying to know what happened!
